Greg Duff, regional producer of endurance athletic events, has launched a new podcast for athletes and communities, by athletes and neighbors. During his first podcast interview Greg talks with Karen Chavez about her experiences as a runner and life before coming to Asheville. Greg and Karen cover a range of topics, and if you like her award-winning writing style, you’ll love this candid interview. “Karen is one of many people you might meet on our greenways.”
As a board member with the Asheville-Buncombe Sports Commission and Connect Buncombe, Greg believes greenways have something for everyone. To quote him; “We are blessed to live in a beautiful area that offers an abundance of recreational activities and opportunities. One of these is our ever-expanding network of greenways, trails and paths that provide something for everyone. For the bike-commuter, they provide a traffic-free avenue to work or play; to the stay-at-home parent they offer a respite from home life while also providing a way for the kids to burn off energy; for the runner it’s flat miles along a river; it’s a place to catch up with old friends; and for some, it’s a safe place to get to back to doing what they love.”
Karen Chavez has been the long-time Outdoors Editor and now the Investigations Editor of the Asheville-Citizen Times. To hear her interview, follow the link below.
